Make a Joyful Noise - 210604

A retreat designed to soothe your soul, open your heart, and bring joy to your life! What is it about music that makes it so meaningful and important to us? Plato said it best, “Music gives a soul to the universe, wings to the mind, flight to the imagination and life to everything.” No matter if you are a musician or, if you are one of the many
who were erroneously told “you can’t sing – you can’t play”, then THIS is YOUR day to celebrate and make a joyful noise. Throughout this day, you will have the freedom and opportunity to write your own song, to sing, to drum, to ride sound waves, and liberate the part of you that responds to music every day. Absolutely NO music experience needed – we promise!

Healing from Grief - 210605

Grief never ends… but it changes.
It’s a passage, not a place to stay.
Grief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith.
It is the price of love.
-Author Unknown
Grief is both a deep sorrow and a normal, healthy response to the stress of loss. Throughout our life, we experience grief in many ways in different situations. It’s uncomfortable, and many times, something we try to resist. Grief caused by the death of a loved one can trigger many unfamiliar, uncomfortable and even frightening feelings, thoughts and physical sensations, sometimes leading us to wonder “grief - am I doing it right?” The focus of this workshop will be to create understanding regarding the individualized nature of grief and grieving. Thoughts, emotions and sensations that often accompany the loss of a loved one, grieving styles, how to cultivate grief resilience, what healing means in the context of great loss, and more, will be explored.

Open Play Pickleball - Indoor - 211606

Pickleball is a great sport to get and stay active, and increase cardio exercise, while being social and meeting new Pickleballers! Courts are modified making this a great opportunity to practice basics and skills while socializing. This Pickleball program is open, drop-in style for recreational play. Participants will form their own teams and rotate opponents. Those with no previous experience will be able to join recreational group play.
Note: Paddles and balls will be available for use during the program for those individuals who do not have their own. We will play at Southridge Athletic Club on their racquetball courts, which are slightly smaller than regulation pickleball courts. Bring indoor tennis shoes and water.
