Let's Build It - 320809

Enter into the fascinating world of robotics. In this exciting STEAM program, students will design, build and test their very own robots under the guidance of an experienced AES instructor.
Chain Reaction in Action!
Winter Sessions I through III will look at this exciting STEAM program. The ball rolls down the ramp, turns the switch, that moves the post, that activates the zip-line, that knocks the ball down the ramp and into the goal! In this STEAM program, students will be building Rube Goldberg “Mouse Trap” chain-reaction machines featuring levers, pulleys, and other simple machines. Engineering and physics concepts will be introduced and reinforced through hands-on, innovative lessons and creative play time. Problem solving skills and teamwork will be put to the test as the complexity of the projects increases from week to week. On the final class, there will be a building competition - How many contraptions can you connect in chain reaction?
Crazy Circuits!
Spring Sessions IV through VI will discover this exhilarating, cutting-edge area of engineering. Students will design, build, and test various circuits and electronic projects. Instructors will guide students through core concepts of electrical engineering, introducing them to circuits and electrical components. Students will use hands-on projects and experiments to explore how electricity is part of our daily lives. Projects will include: a disc launcher, electronic games, musical instruments, alarms, and more, along with fun-filled class activities! No previous experience is necessary, just a desire to have fun, build, and learn; both new and returning participants are welcome!

Bricks 4 Kids - Gadgets & Gizmos - 322808

Bricks 4 Kidz® classes provide an extraordinary atmosphere for children, where they learn, build and play…with LEGO® bricks.
Students build a new model each week, designed by B4K engineers and architects, with exciting themes that kids love! This semester will introduce “Gadgets & Gizmos” and is all about the fun of doing something with what you’ve built. From a spinning top to a spin art model, kids will love playing with their creations! But don’t worry, we sneak in lots of learning, too - understanding probability in the “3-in-a-Row” game model and learning about friction and symmetry with the spinning top.
We have multiple levels of difficulty for each build of the day to accommodate younger or less experienced builders to the older or more seasoned builders. Our models are motorized, designed to give students the skills they will later use in robotics courses, while developing team building skills and HAVING FUN!!! Try us once or all year. LESSONS ARE NEVER REPEATED, EVEN YEAR AFTER YEAR! Don’t miss out!
Note: Sorry, motorized LEGO® Models do not go home with students.
