Fun, Fitness, Adventure! Peaceful and invigorating, recreational tree climbing allows climbers to ascend into and explore trees! Gain a new appreciation for trees, nature, and your local parks. Recreational tree climbing is a unique activity that can be enjoyed by an individual, in small groups, and especially rewarding to families. All gear and instruction is provided.
Note: Participants must wear long pants, sturdy shoes, and bring a sense of adventure!

In the continuing class, students will learn a dance twirl routine plus a series of advanced tricks and struts. Children, with assistance from their parent/caregiver, will learn the basic fundamentals of becoming a good cook while preparing a fun and delicious meal, measuring, mixing, and some old fashioned “tricks of the trade.” For Valentine’s Day, we will be preparing a special meal which includes Heartshaped Calzones, Strawberry Shakes, and Valentine Cake Pops!
Note: All supplies are provided. Each “Wee Chef” should bring a smock or apron to wear. Also, there will be no “eating” of the student’s creations during class. An engaging, interactive intro to theatre basics utilizing an alphabetic theme. Every class adventure begins and closes with our song that incorporates the ASL alphabet. Each week’s theme is focused on particular letters to inspire alliteration-oriented movement activities, providing a forum for expressive energy while celebrating creativity. Session I will focus on letters ”A/B” through “K/L”, and Session II will focus on letters “M/N” through “X/Y/Z”.

“Broadway Babies” is where little stars can “twinkle” using catchy rhymes and classics as well as new tuneful songs “rehearsing” through this engrossing class. Catering to YOUNG movers and burgeoning shakers, all are encouraged to break out of their respective shells with guided movements plus the occasional incorporation of basic objects turned into pretend props. We’ll build on patterns individually in addition to working on synchronizing chorally, while bonding side-by-side.

Babysitter's Training - 322004

Learn about the job of a babysitter in this course. From effective supervision of children and infants, to choosing safe, age-appropriate games and toys, to performing basic child-care skills such as diapering, feeding and dressing, you will gain the confidence necessary. Learn to prevent emergencies by identifying safety hazards yet how to provide care for common injuries such as burns, cuts, and bee stings should they occur. Discuss how to find and interview for a babysitting job and how to communicate effectively with parents. Class fee includes a handbook, CD and Emergency Reference Guide. Students must attend both classes, participate in all lesson activities and complete a series of skills to receive a course certificate. Bring a pencil or pen, beverage, snack and folder to class.
*Participants MUST be a minimum of 11 years of age on or before the first class session.

Babysitter's Pediatric CPR & FA - 322075

Babysitters, take your training to the next level by becoming certified or re-certifying your Child and Infant CPR plus First Aid. This course is a “blended learning” which means you complete the classwork online then come to class on your registered date to practice and polish your skills. After the registration deadline, an email will be sent with a link to the online portion of this course. Plan on spending about 2 hours and 30 minutes with this online classroom work. Deadline to register for Session I is October 5th and for Session II is November 16th. Each participant must have their own unique email address to which the classwork to do online is sent directly to the registrant. Friday Night Frenzy - 322104

Movies, munchies and games galore! Bring your friends for a night full of excitement and adventure. We will kick off the night with a pizza dinner followed by your favorite activities, like the parachute and relay races! The night will conclude with a snack and movie shown on the super-sized jumbo screen! Parents…enjoy a night of “kid free” relaxation! Bully Defense 101 - 322703

Bullying has become an epidemic. Every 7 minutes a child is bullied. 85% of the time, there is no intervention. Each day, 160,000 students miss school due to bullying. Bullying is a leading factor in suicide among kids 11-16 years old. By age 24, 60% of bullies have been charged with a crime. 34% (1 out of 3) of all children report being bullied regularly several times per year. 86% of children ages 12-15 report bullying has interfered with their studies moderately to severely. This “Bully Defense” class will help your child understand what bullying is and help teach them strategies of how to deal with a bullying situation and also help them avoid being a victim as well as teach them how to help each other and avoid becoming bullies as well. It will also teach them the importance of communicating with their parents and teachers. Your child will participate in fun exercises and role paying drills to help them feel more confident as well as learn some basic self-defense techniques should a bullying situation become physical. Having a child be bullied is a nightmare to any loving parent and tougher to handle once it has begun. This program will help your child feel more safe and secure and confident.
